Before entering general practice, doctors are required to spend a year attached to an approved practice.
We are recognised as a training practice and will frequently have doctors joining us for the period of familiarisation with general practice. All doctors are fully qualified and often widely experienced in hospital specialities.
We also have nurses, midwives and health visitors in training positions and medical students in the practice.
What is Heidi?
Heidi Health is an advanced AI medical scribe designed to transcribe patient visits, generate clinical notes, and dictate letters.
This means that the clinician you see will be able to spend more time listening to you, rather than typing up notes on the computer system.
How Does Heidi Work?
Heidi is a healthcare IT system, specifically a cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) medical scribe platform. It processes and transcribes clinical conversations from a healthcare encounter. The clinicians transfer the information onto the patient notes and then delete from Heidi. Once a session is deleted, it is permanently removed from Heidi’s servers and is unrecoverable. This ensures that clinicians have complete control over the data they generate and maintain strict privacy and data management standards
Benefits of using Heidi Health
Privacy Matters
Patient Consent
All clinicians are encouraged to obtain consent before using Heidi. You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you wish to not consent to the use of Heidi, the clinician will type notes throughout the consultation. This will not affect the quality of your care

At this unprecedented time, our Patient Navigators may ask you a series of questions concerning symptoms you may be experiencing. When making an appointment you may be asked if a telephone consultation with the doctor or nurse practitioner would be more helpful to you. It is very important that we have your correct contact details. Please note that all calls are monitored and recorded for training purposes.
If you require urgent, on the day advice the duty doctor will deal with your call. If you wish to speak with a particular doctor or nurse practitioner for non-urgent enquiries your request will be passed on to them to deal with when they are next on duty. Please make this clear to the receptionist when leaving your message.
If you are too ill to attend the surgery you may request a home visit. Whenever possible please telephone the surgery before 10:30am. You will be asked information about your illness so that the duty doctor can prioritise the home visits for the day.
New guidelines – There are new guidelines regarding Home Visits. Patients who live outside the practice area will not be eligible for home visits carried out by the surgery. They will be seen by another provider which is co-ordinated by NHS England via the 111 service. This will be explained to you when registering at the practice.
Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.
