Flu Clinic Information: 24th October 2020

Our next flu clinic is Saturday 24th October for booked appointments only. In advance of this we wanted to advise you:

- Please attend at the time of your appointment as you will not be able to wait inside the surgery; we need to limit the number of people in the building.

- Please wear a mask or face covering.

- The car park will be partly closed with minimal parking available.

- Wear loose fitted clothing and enter the surgery ready for the vaccine to be given in your left arm.

- Come alone where possible.

- People in the same household bubble with consecutive appointments may enter together.

- Your temperature will be taken at the front door before entering the surgery.

The weather forecast suggests it will be raining, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella. You will not be able to wait in the surgery before / after your appointment and will be directed out by a staff member.

The surgery will not be open for anything other than flu vaccines.

Thank you.

Northampton Covid- 19 Patient information

CORONAVIRUS LATEST UPDATE 12.02.2020

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The current risk to the general public is moderate. You can help too.

  • Germs can live on some surfaces for hours. To protect yourself and others:
  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • If you have arrived back from an affected area within the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately:
  • Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu
  • Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus.

More information, including a list of the affected areas is available by logging onto gov.uk/coronavirus

NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENT BOOKING SYSTEM

From Tuesday 21st January 2020  we are introducing a new patient appointment booking system. All patients wanting to be seen on the day will be dealt with by a dedicated member of the Practice Team.

Calls will be taken between 08.00 and 13.00 for same day care.  You will be called back the same day if you have called before 13.00 and  be offered appropriate treatment and care.   This may be a face to face appointment, a prescription, telephone advice, a referral, or other course of action.   Patients will be asked to give a detailed description of the problem to the Patient Navigator who answers the call, who will also ask what outcome you are hoping to achieve. The more information we have, the quicker and easier it will be to process your request and prioritise your call.
